Pilates
Please note that the Pilates classes will not be meeting on Wed. 4-9 at 10 am and Fri. 4-11 at 9:30 am, due to a Franklin training meeting here this week.
Sorry for the inconvenience, see you next week
Pilates is a method of exercise that strengthens the core stabilizing muscles -- the abdominals, pelvis and lower back -- while facilitating flexibility and strength through movement. Pilates emphasizes proper form along with focused breathing. Fewer repetitions of each exercise are required to target the key muscles. The integrity of capturing each movement makes this mind/body exercise continually challenging and never boring.
Practicing Pilates regularly will:
· Improve overall strength and muscle tone
· Build a strong core of support for the entire body
· Correct poor posture while creating a long, strong body
· Enhance balance and coordination
· Reduce stress on the joints
· Increase body alignment and flexibility of tight muscles
· Assist in preventing injury
· Encourage long-lasting improved health and well-being
· Teach muscular re-patterning techniques
