Yin Yoga – A Quiet Practice • Katrin Elia

This five week series on Wednesday evening will be the perfect opportunity to explore the meditative and physical side of YIN Yoga. Through the long-holdings in the posture, certain targeted connective tissues (facia, ligament, tendons, etc.) will be stretched to gain flexibility and agility, which constitutes the physical benefit of this practice. The meditative side starts by concentrating on the breath or a body part throughout the practice that allows the mind to relax and to be in the moment. Once into the posture, silence will ensue. In this way, the student will be able to explore the full range of sensations, physically and mentally.
If you are looking for a more relaxing form of Yoga after work and before bedtime, you will be in the right place. This practice is suitable for experienced Yin Yoga students, as well for beginners.
